Workshop: Smash poverty stigma in society
“As a society we have a huge obsession with money and materialism and yet there are so many other things that make us up. The same way that we are not defined by our race or if we have disabilities, we should not be defined by how much money we have.
So we thought, in order to switch up the poverty stigma, we need to start asking different questions.”
“Which is why we came up with the alternate census”
Young people present the results of their day-long workshop on smashing stigma in society at Think Nation Project Twist-It Live. Their main conclusion? We need to stop talking about money and start asking each other different questions. See more at projecttwistit.com
